Discover Sop Janda Jawa Sunda

Located at Jl. Raya Pekayon No.11, RT.003/RW.002, Pekayon Jaya, Kec. Bekasi Sel., Kota Bks, Jawa Barat, Sop Janda Jawa Sunda brings an authentic taste of Indonesian comfort food to the heart of Bekasi. If you're looking for a place that delivers warm, hearty meals with a traditional touch, this is the spot you don't want to miss.

One of the standout dishes at this beloved local establishment is their signature sop janda - a savory, rich soup made from tender beef or chicken, served with a flavorful broth infused with spices and fresh herbs. The name itself, Sop Janda, which translates to "Widow's Soup," is a fun twist that refers to the heartwarming qualities of the dish. While the origins of the name remain part of local folklore, what’s important is that it’s a bowl of comfort and flavor that has earned its place as a favorite among the regulars.

The restaurant is known for its generous portions and variety of toppings, making it the perfect place to gather with friends or family. Each bowl of soup comes packed with tender meat, a medley of vegetables, and a deliciously rich broth. The aroma wafts through the air, inviting you in as soon as you step through the door.

One of the great things about Sop Janda Jawa Sunda is that it's not just about the main dish. The menu offers a variety of Indonesian favorites, from sate (skewered meat) to nasi goreng (fried rice), ensuring there’s something for everyone. The perfect pairing with the sop is a serving of krupuk (crispy crackers), adding a crunchy texture that balances the rich soup.

The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a relaxed, casual atmosphere that makes it ideal for both quick lunches and leisurely dinners. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming experience, making diners feel right at home. Whether you're a local or just visiting, you'll quickly find that Sop Janda Jawa Sunda has a way of making you feel like part of the family.

For those who have never had the pleasure of trying sop janda, it’s an experience that’s both comforting and flavorful. The balance of spices, the depth of the broth, and the tender meat are what set this dish apart from the many soups you'll find in other restaurants. The taste is rich without being overwhelming, with just the right amount of heat to leave a lingering warmth.

In addition to their signature sop, the restaurant also excels in soto, another iconic Indonesian soup. This dish is often considered a lighter option compared to the sop janda, but equally satisfying in its own right. Made with a base of fragrant broth and often served with a variety of meats, vegetables, and noodles, soto is a perfect choice for those looking for a lighter meal but still craving a comforting soup experience.

Customers frequently praise the fresh ingredients and the fact that each dish is made to order, ensuring both flavor and quality are never compromised. Whether you opt for the rich, indulgent sop or the lighter soto, you’re guaranteed a satisfying meal that captures the essence of traditional Sundanese flavors. The portion sizes are generous, so you’ll never leave hungry.

Sop Janda Jawa Sunda also offers a range of beverages to complement your meal, from refreshing iced teas to traditional Indonesian drinks. The selection of drinks pairs perfectly with the robust flavors of the food, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Located conveniently in Bekasi, it’s an accessible spot for locals and travelers alike. The place is well-frequented, and rightly so, given the quality of the food and the warm, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant offers a casual, no-frills dining experience that is all about the food, making it a must-visit for anyone craving traditional Indonesian cuisine.

In terms of pricing, Sop Janda Jawa Sunda offers excellent value for the quality and quantity of food you get. Whether you’re indulging in the hearty sop or sampling one of the many other dishes on the menu, you’ll find that the prices are reasonable and reflective of the delicious, home-cooked nature of the meals. The value extends beyond just the price - it’s the experience of eating comfort food in a place that feels like home.

If you’re in the Bekasi area and looking for a place to enjoy authentic Indonesian flavors, Sop Janda Jawa Sunda should be at the top of your list. With its signature soups, hearty portions, and welcoming vibe, it’s the kind of place where you’ll leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face, already planning your next visit.

  • If you are looking for hot spicy meat soups on Pekayon, Bekasi Resident, this is one of the easy food stall you can recommend to your freands, as I do. With free flow rice all you can eat, and live music from the street performer, and if you can stand the heat of the air (cause there is no air conditioning)

  • I love the taste of it. The sourness is perfect balanced to every bite of meat. It is not too spicy, and I love the richness of the taste. I bought a special one, and it never failed! If you want to try, go here! However, the place is too hot in the afternoon because the roof is near to head and the humidity is high. It also offered various menu you can try!

  • A place where you can get a spicy soup with various topping. At first, the soup tasted too hot and spicy as they are served with various level of spices. As a person who does not fancy a spice food, i felt a bit too hot, but after a few mouthful of soup I got used to it and oddly loving it. I ordered a big bowl of beef ribs soup which I thought the right portion as I was so hungry at the time. The rice is all you can eat and it would be perfect to have with that big bowl of soup. Unfortunately, I came in there at the wrong hours, during break fasting time. The seved rice finished very quickly and it took them long enough to refill it. So, I had to finish the soup with only a small portion of rice. Don't expect to be served quickly during busy hours as your order is to be deliver to your table for quite a while. Pricewise is a bit expensive, but fortunately payment can be made with debit cards. I would definitely be back again for the soup despite of the chaotic situation at my first visit. But not at busy hours of course.
